Why choose us?

St Therese Catholic Primary School Mascot offers a welcoming community that provides a wonderful range of academic and co-curricular opportunities for all students. Our reputation and academic success has been built on the high standards set for our teachers and students. Teachers challenge students to extend their learning and encourage them to strive to achieve their best.

We have very involved parents, a multicultural community and a parish that operates in the generous spirit of the Scalabrinian Priests. The strength of this engagement supports St Therese school in delivering the highest quality education.

Principal’s Message

01-st-terese-mascot--our-principle-and-studentWelcome to St Therese Catholic Primary School Mascot. Our school is a place where your child will engage, connect, and grow.

Our school strives to promote excellence in education and a love of lifelong learning in the 21st-century world.

A high priority for our school is the identification of students’ learning styles, and how best to stimulate and support their learning by implementing individualised programs.

A range of intervention programs provided at our school assist in the development of students’ skills which allows them to participate in a rapidly changing world and contribute to Australia’s future development and prosperity.

Our school has a strong focus on supporting the learning of students with identified needs, implementing effective individual learning programs that are designed to cater to the specific needs of every child. At St Therese, there are a range of in-school extracurricular activities for students to access that will allow them to enhance their skill set, knowledge, and experience.

Students have the opportunity to engage in a range of STEM activities utilising digital technologies to develop their understanding based on evidence and reason. These skills allow them to participate responsibly in developing innovative ideas and solutions in response to questions and situations relevant to personal, social, and environmental issues.

At St Therese Catholic Primary School we work hand in hand with our local Parish and families to gift our children the message that each one of them is seen as unique and special, loved by their parents, cared for by their community and loved by their God.

Our school Motto, ” Love and Courage’ calls us to place our faith in God and is the foundation of our welcoming school community.

Principal

01-st-terese-mascot-our-historyThe special cross that hangs in our foyer represents the rich history and charism of St Therese Catholic Primary School Mascot. Decorated with the thumbprint of every child, staff member, and member of the clergy associated with St Therese in 2016, it depicts the unique fabric of our community.

The cross acknowledges Australia’s Indigenous Aboriginal heritage and includes these specific symbols that are important to St Therese, Mascot:

  • The Celtic cross reminds us of the contribution of the Irish in bringing Catholicism to Australia
  • Two roses represent our patron, St Therese of Lisieux, otherwise known as, ‘The Little Flower’
  • The dove symbolises The Holy Spirit
  • The Sacred Heart of Jesus reminds us of The Daughters of The Sacred Heart who established our school in 1940
  • The ocean waves are a tribute to the Scalabrinian priests who travelled from Italy to Mascot to continue their mission of working with migrants and refugees.

We are St Therese Mascot. We are grateful for all of our blessings.
